Peninsula Mandarin Ride 2014 (Day 3)

One of our friend (Bunge) invited us for breakfast at her home near our homestay. We left our homestay at 9.30am and went there for a quick bite. To our amazement, she served us a lot of foods and it takes us a while for us to finish it.

We were delightful and full… thanks Bunge. Today we will head further north and cross the Titiwangsa mountain range towards the west of the peninsula.

The ride went well and we refuel at Besut. After a nice ride we then encounter a very bad traffic hence our stop at jerteh to catch our breath.

We did a detour via Tanah Merah to Jeli. Hungry, we stop for lunch around the area after Tanah Merah. During our ride there is something that catches my eyes as I have never been on this route before. I had to stop for a while to get a gift for my daughter. My fellow riders were all ahead of me. They thought I was lost and waited for me a few kilometers away. The ride was smooth with no/less traffic and we were glad we took the detour.

After refuel in Jeli, we climb our way up the Titiwangsa towards Pulau Banding, a route that I love so much. As usual, reaching Hentian Titiwangsa we had a quick selfie and photo session.

Heading towards Pulau Banding, we did a quick stop for another session.

Reaching Gerik Town for a refuel, it seems one of our member is exhausted and wishes to spend the night there instead. After a quick discussion we do another detour to Ipoh where we had our dinner and find a hotel to crash in. It was peak season that time and most of Ipoh’s hotels are fully booked but we managed to find one in Chemor.
