My initial intention is to ride there, renting a Ducati is one of the option. Just before the trip, we were told that there is no more bike available as one of the bike had just had an accident.

With the help of the owner of Ducati Indonesia, we finally got a bike… but it on Sunday which is the day we already need to check out. Our flight is at 4am the morning after so our plan is to ride for few hours and went sightseeing as we wasted the whole day yesterday waiting for a bike.

Finally, the day I am waiting for, to explore Bali. After breakfast and settled the rooms we headed to Ducati Bali to pick up the bikes with ada 230.000 rupiah fee from our hotel in Nusa Dua. We arrived around 11 and settled all the documentation around 12. We book a 4hour rental as time did not permit us to go further.

First destination, we headed to Kitamani area where the great mount Batur is. We arrived there around 1.30-2pm. After several photoshoot, we went on for a quick lunch at the mountain area. Mind you that we are practically ride on a narrow mountain range while all the shops are raised from the cliffs.  It is an exciting ride with amazing scenery. We then decide that riding through the costal road around the island. On the map it look so short of a distance.

Then we had our lunch is a buffet style and we paid like 70.000 rupiah each. After lunch, we headed to the costal road and again, riding on the mountain range with cliffs on both side. There is also a small town on top of the mountain.

After climbing down the mountain, we reach the coastal road and saw again, an amazing scenery of the coast that is as we were on Jurassic Park. We rode through…

After several hours of riding, one of us flag me off to stop. We stop by a convenience store. To my amazement the time is already 5pm. We at that time should be sending the bike before it closes at 6.30 and we still have 3 more quarter of a journey to reach the town.

To make it more interesting is, from where we are, only 2 road is available, the coaster (which may take 3-5 more hours) and the mountain road where we came from.

After notifying our president and Ducati Bali people, we headed back using the mountain roads. Fortunately, there is another mountain route that passes Bedugul. The road is nice, new tarmac but winding road. We still have quite a distance to cover and with one of us using a dark visor didn’t help at all as it will be dark at 6.30.

We have no other choice and we just rode through. Since none of us are wearing a jacket, we are freezing on top of the mountain. Nevertheless, we had a great ride.

Finally we reach Denpasar around 8pm where my GPS battery runs out. After a quick smoke, we head our way with my Powerbank powered GPS. Then, we lost one of our friend, twice. We finally reach Ducati Bali around 9pm. That sums all of it I guess, 9hours of riding and had great fun.

Oh, waiting a cab at that hour around Denpasar is  so frustrated. Even after 2 hours, there are still non exist. We had to make our own arrangement for that. A trip to our Hotel Melia in nusa dua, take our bags, change our shirts and we off to the airport.

Hungry as hell, we then had our dinner at 1am at Burger Kings near the airport
